geognerd Geospatial Stock Index - April 18, 2008

The GGSI closed higher by a large margin. This week’s 80.57 point gain ( close at 1278.18 ) was the biggest gain since last September. There were 26 gaining stocks, three losing stocks, and one unchanged.

Biggest winners - SiRF (25.70%), Google (18.03%), Stewart Information Services (13.66%)

Biggest losers - Northrup Grumman (-6.67%), General Dynamics (-1.07%), Telvent (-0.49%)

Autodesk (4.00%) - AutoCAD Map 3D 2009 works with Citrix.

Garmin (1.61%) - Lehman Brothers initiates coverage at Equal-Weight.

General Dynamics (-1.07%) and Trimble (5.50%) - Working with Raytheon on modernized military GPS receivers.

Google (18.03%) - Introduces Google Earth 4.3 beta.

ITT (2.82%) - Downgraded by Credit Suisse from Outperform to Neutral.

Microsoft (6.38%) - UK user feedback causes Microsoft to undo its move to Multimap. Live Maps now Safari-compatible.

NAVTEQ (5.11%) - Unveiled TV traffic reporting system.

SiRF ( 25.70%) - President/CEO resigned.
